Exam & Fee Requirements to obtain your A&P Certificate!


STEP 1

WRITTEN EXAMS - you must pass all three exams.
General
Airframe
Powerplant

You will need the following items to take your WRITTEN EXAMS:
FAA Form 8610-2
Photo ID
Passport/Permanant Resident Card (for Non-US Citizens)
Test Fees (see below)
Scientific Calculator

*** Each WRITTEN EXAM is $135. If you fail and must retake...it will be an additional $135. ***
***  Each GENERAL EXEMPT WRITTEN EXAM is $68 for ACTIVE STUDENTS ONLY.  ***


STEP 2

ORAL & PRACTICAL EXAM
Schedule an appointment with one of our DMEs (Designated Mechanic Examiners)
to take your Oral & Practical Exam.

You will need the following items to take your ORAL & PRACTICAL EXAM:
ORIGINAL FAA Form 8610-2 (2 copies)
Graduation Certificate from AIM
SEALED Notice of Results for each WRITTEN EXAM passed
Photo ID
Test Fees

*** The ORAL & PRACTICAL EXAM is approximately $750...call a DME for more info. ***

FAA Information Regarding FAA Form 8610-2

You may choose to take your exams at other Test Centers (not the Test Center at AIM)
and with other DMEs not affiliated with AIM.
If so, you must have your FAA Form 8610-2 signed by the FAA.

We offer a TEST PREP refresher course each month!

Weekend Course
Friday (for GENERAL only) - 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Saturday - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Sunday - 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Fees
AIM GRADUATE within 6 months of graduation - FREE
AIM GRADUATE after 6 months of graduation - $50 for entire weekend course
NON-AIM GRADUATE - $100 for entire weekend course
2 Day ORAL & PRACTICAL REVIEW - $40 per day or $70 for both days

We offer a GENERAL EXEMPT
exam opportunity to all ACTIVE students!

Normally you must wait until after Graduation to take your Written Exams.

This opportunity to take your GENERAL EXAM prior to graduation is available to
all ACTIVE students who have completed their GENERAL classes and coursework.

With this opportunity, we offer the GENERAL EXAM at a discounted rate of $68.
(normally written exams are $135)
